let's be real for a second

If we were actually sitting across from each other right now, the conversation would probably turn to the fact that perfection is overrated. The truth is much more interesting. There is so much beauty in the little mess, the raw emotions, and the quiet moments that usually go unnoticed. Instead of a fabricated version of the truth, the goal is always to capture life exactly as it unfolds.

You will hear me say a lot that I want your photos to feel like home. To me, home is not just a place with four walls. It is that exhale you take when you are with your person. It is the messy, unscripted parts of your day where you can just be. It is the way you look through the eyes of the people who love you most.

I am not here to pose you into a box or create a polished version of your life that does not exist. I am here to build a visual archive that feels as honest, warm, and grounding as home. I want you to look back at these years from now and recognize yourselves— not just how you looked, but exactly how it felt to be there.

Outside of photography, my life moves at a slower pace, and I like it that way. I’m based in Iowa, building a life with my fiancé that leaves room for long conversations, quiet mornings, and no rushing. The more I’ve embraced that, the more I’ve realized how powerful it is to feel truly seen without needing to perform or impress.

beyond the lens

We spend a lot of our time outside, riding bikes, wandering trails, or packing up the car to go camping. It is in those ordinary moments that I feel most like myself (and always with a cup of coffee in hand). I've found that just slowing down and paying attention to what's right in front of me is where real life happens.

That way of living shapes how I photograph. I am drawn to 35mm film because it asks for patience and trust. You cannot rush it or control every detail, and that is exactly the point. I am not trying to create something perfect or polished, and I am certainly not looking for a fabricated version of your story. I care about what is real. I want to document the mess and the raw emotions, so when you return to these photos years from now, you remember exactly how it felt to be there.

Bella came out to California to shoot engagement photos for me and my fiancé, and they are so beautiful. Her work is amazing and she’s so fun to work with! I would highly recommend hiring Bella for any of your photo needs..seriously amazing.

We had the absolute best experience working with Bella to document our engagement party. Many of our friends and family even commented on how fun she was to shoot with! Bella is so positive, sweet and her work is an art. She manages to capture the best of every moment. We also particularly loved our photos taken on film. We will for sure work with her again to capture our future milestones!

She brought an infectious positive energy to the session, which made the entire experience even more special. Her creativity and attention to detail were evident in every shot she took. The photos she captured are nothing short of stunning—memories we’ll cherish for a lifetime. If you're considering booking with Bella, do it. You won’t regret a single moment
